Grindstone - The Student Job Platform LLC is a platform that exists to connect skilled high school students with the opportunities and experiences around them using an interface that allows both generations to connect in one place. We aim to help students find opportunities, make money, and build meaningful connections. Central to this mission, it is our commitment to be transparent about the data we collect about you, whom it is shared with, and how it is used.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use our services such as websites, mobile applications, emails we send, and any other services (described below).

Information We Collect:

When you interact with us through the Services, we collect Personal Data and other information from Job Posters (“Employers”), Students and others as described below:

Personal Data That You Provide Through the Site: We collect information that, alone or in combination could be used to identify you (“Personal Data”) when you provide such information, such as when you join the Service to post or apply for a job. For example, when you create an account, we collect your:

• First and last name;

• Email address;

• Phone number;

• Date of birth;

• Emergency contacts;

• Zip Code;

By voluntarily providing us with Personal Data, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you provide Personal Data to our Services, you acknowledge and agree that such Personal Data may be transferred from your current location to the offices and servers of Grindstone and the authorized third parties referred to herein located in the United States.

 

Our Use of Your Personal Data and Other Information:

We use your information to Provide the Grindstone Services: When you create an account on the Services, we share your Personal Data with Employers and Students in order to connect you. This information may include the city where you live, the skills you have listed and certain other information necessary for the job.

 

Communicate with you: Grindstone and its affiliates may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about listings and services we believe will be of interest to you. If we do so, each promotional communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to “unsubscribe” from receiving future promotional information. In addition, if at any time you wish not to receive any future communications or you wish to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, please contact us at Help@grindstoneapp.com. Please note that we will continue to contact you via email to respond to requests and provide our Services unless asked otherwise.

 

Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your information may be transferred to a successor or affiliate alone or as part of that transaction along with other assets.

 

Children:

Grindstone is a service for teens aged 13 and above. Grindstone does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data to Grindstone through our Services, please contact us at help@grindstoneapp.com and we will delete that information from our databases.

 

Security:

We take reasonable steps to protect the Personal Data provided via the Services from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be fully secure and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. We do not accept liability for unintentional disclosure.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy:

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post all changes to this Privacy Policy on this page. Your continued use of the Services constitutes your agreement to the Privacy Policy as changed.
